Request-a-doodle: Smelly Phone
Smelly Felly said...In honor of you, I'd like to see a doodle of a man answering what he thinks is his cell phone, but it's actually a poop. Extra points for details in the poop (i.e. corn).
and then
Anonymous said...Smelly Felly should be put on doodle probation for his anal fixation. Or maybe sent to bed early by his parents. (I can only assume he's a pre-teen.)
good chuckles...thanks SmellyFelly!

Request-a-doodle: Carpal Tunnel Agony
Anonymous said...I'm requesting a picture of a certain former coworker afflicted with carpal tunnel...ps to add hilarity to the picture it would probably help to draw this person smoking.
Sad indeed to be struck down with the c.t. and resume the poisoning of yourself. Cheers to the Dr. in pain and agony -- quit that smoking and get crackin'!

Request-a-doodle Friday
A special (U.S. holiday) Memorial Day weekend request-a-doodle kick off to summer. Request a doodle by leaving a comment on this post and I may doodle it sometime over the next week. Be creative and/or demented, but not too detailed -- remember the idea is something i can 'whip up' during a lull in a meeting or phone call.
So have at it. enjoy.

Into the drink
Upon exiting the stall, if there are other visitors, by now they're wondering what the hell was all that splashing and banging about. Just give them a look that says "What are you looking at?" in a Jerri Blank kind of way.
I took it all apart back at my desk and using paper towels soaked up what drops of water I could find. Then I stuck the dissembled pieces out in the car in the hot sun for a couple hours. Most sites recommend waiting 3 days to let it completely dry but I was fairly confident that I had retrieved it fast enough and that the mid-May heat was intense enough to do the trick. She's all right now working like a charm and I just don't want to think about it anymore.

Request-a-doodle: Breakfast in bed
Robin said...I'd like to challenge you and request a doodle of your wife receiving her mother's day breakfast in bed. It's a challege because I know how hard it is for you to draw this beautiful woman!
I didn't get to finish this (left out the kids). This is what happened mother's day morning as we were serving mom breakfast in bed. Daisy (the dog) jumped on the bed and knocked the tray and orange juice, french toast, and fruit salad went a-flying. The mrs. thought it was funny. I was somewhat less than amused.

Request-a-doodle Friday
It's Friday so it's request-a-doodle day. Request a doodle by adding a comment to this post on "Friday" (or close to it if Friday's already passed you by on the other side).
hint: the less complicated your request is, the more likely it is that I'll get it done.
As my friend, Duke, says, "Have an outstanding day."

Request-a-doodle: President Doing Something Stupid
patrick said...I request you draw the president doing something tottaly stupid (make it funny, not political)
I almost gave up on this one. It was almost impossible to think of the president doing something stupid that wouldn't be political -- that list is endless. Don't know that it's funny but it gets Patrick off my list. Don't play with matches -- it's stupid.

Request-a-doodle: Firetruck in Space
cody said...I would like to see a picture of a fire truck flying through outerspace
Probably not what Cody was looking for but perhaps a firehose in space would help with the global warming issue.

Request-a-doodle: 2 Headed Monster In-n-Out
Smelly Felly said... I'd like a two-headed monster (your choice) riding a tractor in the drive-thru of In-N-Out.
Back in my NoCal-traveling days I never got to hit an In-N-Out for their famous burgers. Some day I'll get back there and that's the first place I'm going after SmellyFelly's.

Guest-Artist: If I Had A Jet Pack
Daughter steps up to the plate tonight to help out the old man who's busy resting up for RAD (request-a-doodle friday tomorrow). I asked her to render me a superhero -- she chose a superspy with jet pack.
Now I just need to get the boy to start contributing with some of his tricked out street machines.

True Horror Stories
Horror movies turned to talk of Jaws which, in turn, turned to an episode of MythBusters where they tested the idea of shooting a scuba tank with a rifle and making it explode. That brought about some chuckles about the whole concept.
Then one of the guests talked about how he witnessed his uncle's house in Lebanon being blown up by men shooting the butane tank outside the house during the war. Apparently, they use butane rather than propane for heat/cooking in that region. He remarked that that was horror and one of the reasons he left Lebanon.
That conversation's been bouncing around in my head for a few days -- how many of us here in the States and other 'stable' lands have never witnessed true horror -- is that why we have a love affair with horror movies and scary rides? Most of us don't know what it means to be scared in real life, day-in and day-out.
What happens when our troops come home from living in the horror of war? While they have 'normalcy' to come home to -- what's left in and of their minds? What about their families? What about their community? For that matter, what's the lasting effect on those people that live in lands where war is 'normalcy'?
I just need to appreciate more the lives we have.

Along those lines, here's a shout-out to a charity that does good work for the US troops and their families: Fisher House Foundation. Here's a review of the charity at Charity Navigator. And here's a charity, American Near East Refugee Aid (their review on CN) that works to improve communities in the Middle East ravaged by war.
