PostIt Pattern
Fresh from Victory Brewing Company's Fall Fest -- doodled this sticky note yesterday and 'patterned' it tonight. Phils lost but Victory won. Good times. Good beer. Good food. Good friends.
Was looking at some old Request-a-doodles the other day and saw that I never fulfilled a request by that English bear blogger b.t.bear esq.:
Please draw me, as an astronaut.
Ah, go on.
:@}
You might have to click on the image to see the detail but it appears that the koalas have 'monkeyed' with the bear's equipment. He's disconnected from the ship, de-pressurized and blown an eyeball button.
There was a guy I used to work with -- a Singaporean via our London office -- who would always say "Bloody Hell" when things went wrong with programs, servers, whatever. But he was such a calm, gentle guy that it always came out a very subtle "bloody hell". That was 11+ years ago but I still like to try and say 'bloody hell' in his serene way.
Too often I say more Americanized things in the way my drawing dude does. And it's usually about important stuff like there not being enough room in my 'beer' refrigerator in the garage for my beer because there's water or 'vitamin water' in there. Bloody Hell!
It's been a long long time since I fulfilled a Request-a-doodle but Rick N. submitted a request last night on an old post that I found amusing and thought it would make a good animation. Not having the time to do an animation but the inclination to do something, I gave this new Sketchcast a try. I tried to talk through the drawing and record that as well but I forgot to toggle the voice on and if you do it later it erases your drawing (future enhancement idea, Sketchcast: edit your sketchcast and add voice-over after the fact.)
Here's Rick's request: I noticed you havent done one of these in awhile but perhaps this will inspire you:
5th grade, I enter the bike-a-thon. As I cross over a pair of train tracks I fall off my bike, not because I veered out of control of anything, but simply because I was going too slow and the bike just kind of stopped and I just fell over.
A 7th grade girl (more athletic than me) looked on with a disappointed look, as if I should just go home already. Imagine my view of that look, me laying sideways, still on my bike.
This is pretty rough and slow-going because my old mac is slow as molasses and the drawing tablet is not responding in sync with the web app. But here goes it anyway, for the sake of adventure and trying new tools.
I haven't been on an interview in a year or so but years ago I swore off getting myself into interview twister -- getting all dressed up and then squirming into the right fit for a job I'd probably end up not enjoying. It's all so uncomfortable.
I had a special birthday boy request for this tshirt -- so I made it and now it's available to all. (note -- it's been designed specifically for dark colors.) The origin of the doodle was from a meeting I attended at the last job -- I specifically drew it knowing that my boss would think that I'd rather stick a sharp stick in my eye than sit in another meeting. However, I actually loved meetings there because I could get a lot of drawings done.
Now. I promise to stop churning out goods & wears and get back to doodling. It's been a tough September.
a) the new scanner is here. Canon CanoScan 8600F -- the Epson didn't hold up on both printing and scanning fronts to I'm giving Canon a go for my money.
b) found I didn't add this last ink & watercolor from the shore vacation last month.
