An Eye On Christmas

Working on some roughs of the mcglinch.com holiday card. Came up with this idea tonight when the kids and I drove by the local greenhouse display on the way over to the Chester Springs Studio holiday fine crafts & art show. The kids weren't thrilled with my concept.

Six-Fingered Office Rat

I was working on this watercolor depicting the various dooways and light that lead from my dreary dark and windowless office yesterday when the six-fingered company rat passed by, stopped, gave me his usual 'peace sign' greeting, and then kept moving. He never says anything -- just flashes the peace sign on his creepy six-fingered paw and moves on.

Spicy Legs McCoy - Thanksgiving Eve

Thanksgiving Eve, my cousin, Billy "Legs" McCoy was hanging out and was walloped by the Victory Hop Wallop and ended up dipping his torso in the salsa. The Mrs. was none too pleased.

Hoots & Hellmouth

Spent an evening out this weekend with the mrs. and Susan Bankert of Barking Tree Pottery and her husband, Scott, at The Arts Scene in West Chester for the "Mugs, Microbrews, Music & Movies" event at the Down To Earth Exhibit featuring entertainment by local up-and-still-coming-strong movers and shakers Hoots & Hellmouth. Susan had some beer mugs and other pieces in the exhibit along with a bunch of other talented folks.

I took this cell phone shot of the band only to later to find that this turtle dude who had way too many Victory Hop Devil samplers got in my way. I overheard some people plotting to put him on his back if he didn't start behaving.

Despite the turtle dude, the show was a
burn
barn-burner, foot-stomping revival. If you get a chance, grab the Hoots & Hellmouth cd and definitely catch them live.

Gorilla in the mist

This foggy scene caught my eye this morning in the parking lot where I get my coffee. A short-school-bus driver was relaxing reading a book and having a smoke leaning against her bus. Then the local gorilla-giant tried one of the oldest tricks in the book in a shameless attempt to catch her unawares. I decided to let it play out to see how it ended but not before taking this snapshot with the cell.

How did it end? Let's just say there's one sorry ape roaming the countryside.

The good news is...

The good news is my brother is in town from Texas to hit the college hoops circuit in the Northeast.
The good news is my brother has returned to enjoying beers again.
The good news is I've spent a bit of time doing both with my brother.
The good news is we hooked up an electronic drum kit to an amp and "jammed" last night.

The bad news is the drawing, sketching, and other side projects have suffered greatly over the past week or so due to his visit and other distractions.

The good news is I got home early enough tonight to do a quick sticky note doodle.

Bigfoot in Pennsylvania

I was stopped for a school bus on the way to work this morning when this lumbering, somewhat slow-witted, Bigfoot crossed in front of my car.

There's been a lot of hub-bub recently about a recent Bigfoot sighting in Pennsylvania. Though in the linked news account he appears to be more of a chimpanzee than a man-beast. Around our parts, Sasquatch are as much of a nuisance as deer this time of year.
